To be brave or confident means to have a predetermination that is such, and that's what The Fool lacks- a predisposed frame within which he operates. When it comes to finances, The Fool acknowledges the risk of plummeting at the first step. One may interpret The Fool as a warning that the journey ahead can be filled with fluctuations of loss and gain, perhaps realized or not.
