Shortcuts to Enlightenment
Mumbai is everything I had hoped for. It is dirty, crowded, smelly and chaotic, with tiny pockets of beauty hidden everywhere the are so wonderfully juxtaposed to the chaos and misery around them. What is most striking about India is not the poverty, but the contrast. Destitute poverty is within arm’s reach of opulence and excess.
This collection is a series of reflections on poverty, beauty, and the tenuous relationship between wealth and happiness. My journal entries are available for a more lighthearted look at what it took to capture these images.
