FLOWERS FOR ESSY

Flowers for Essy is a body of work dedicated to my younger sister, who is the inspiration and muse for these portraits. My work being largely influenced by my journey into womanhood and understanding the complexities of what it means to be a woman in my society. At every step of the way, you are at the back of my mind. I hope to clear all the weeds enough to let you bloom at your own pace. How i wish I could protect you from the world forever, but as you step into your odyssey years, remember to take time to smell the roses, and blossom like the way the sunflowers blossom towards the sun.
